FINDING THE IDYLLIC TOWN OF GLASHÜTTE.
The small town of Glashütte is situated in the idyllic Ore Mountains, just 35 kilometres south of Dresden. More than 160 years ago, Ferdinand A. Lange established his own manufactory for pocket watches here – thus laying the cornerstone of the German precision watchmaking industry.
In those times, Glashütte was accessible only by a seldom-used road. Today, if you wish to follow the footsteps of the famous master watchmaker of Dresden and find your way to the centre of German precision watchmaking, the following routes are at your disposal.
