THE PRECISELY JUMPING MINUTE COUNTER.
This useful chronograph function makes it possible to accurately determine stopped times. During an ongoing time measurement, the minute counter jumps to the next scale graduation precisely after60 seconds have elapsed, even if the chronograph sweep-seconds hand is stopped just as it passes the 60-seconds mark. In chrono-graphs with slowly switching minute counters, it is often not clear whether or not the counter has already advanced.
This mechanism was used in earlier times, especially in pocket watches and high-quality wristwatches. But Lange’s calibre engi-neers have improved it decisively. And they were granted a patent for an adjustable operating lever that now allows the jump point of the minute counter to be accurately defined in the fully assembled movement.
