THE FLYBACK MECHANISM.

The flyback mechanism is based on the complex interaction of many individual parts. When the reset push piece is pressed during an ongoing time measurement, a system of levers interrupts the flow of power to the chronograph mechanism. With its two contact surfaces, the heart lever engages the zero-reset heart cams that carry the sweep-seconds hand and the minute-counter hand, causing them to jump to zero. Releasing the push piece instantaneously starts the new measurement.
