THE CABARET TOURBILLON BY LANGE.

In the CABARET TOURBILLON, one of the most poetic and horologically challenging complications finally receives the crowning touch: the tourbillon. It was originally invented to improve the rate accuracy of a watch. But since it was first introduced, it has carried a stigma: it could not be stopped. Thus, watches with tourbillons would run accurately, but they could not be set precisely to the second. So how can a tourbillon be stopped? The answer to this question – it has been awaited for over 200 years – is the world’s first stop seconds mechanism for a tourbillon, developed by Lange.

The beauty and finesse of the delicate tourbillon with the patented stop-seconds mechanism can be admire through a window in the solid-silver dial. The cage rotates about its own axis once a minute and, true to the heritage of historic 1A-quality pocket watches crafted by Lange, features a diamond endstone on both sides.

The UP/DOWN power-reserve indicator

PERFECTION AND HARMONY – THE DIAL.

The separate subsidiary seconds dial is located to the left of the window in the dial while the UP/DOWN power-reserve indicator is on the right-hand side, reliably displaying the state of wind of the twin mainspring barrel which when fully wound delivers power for 5 days. The upper half of the dial showcases the outsize date, a typical Lange hallmark. In the CABARET TOURBILLON, its numerals are about four times larger than in watches of comparable size.
