THE 165-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION.

The year 2010 marks the 165th anniversary of a historic event:
in 1845, Ferdinand A. Lange established his own watch manufactory in the Müglitz valley. He was a man of remarkable modesty paired with an unfaltering quest for perfection. With the establishment, F. A. Lange wanted to take on two formidable challenges of the era:

The year 1845 falls within the halcyon days of the industrial revolution. The tremendous innovative thrust in manufacturing and transportation called for unprecedented timekeeping precision. However, the Ore Mountains remained isolated from progress. The remote region was plagued by unemployment and poverty.
F. A. Lange decided to build the world’s finest watches and at the same time to provide the people in his native Saxony with an education and jobs.

On the occasion of the anniversary, Lange salutes the founder
of the watchmaking dynasty with the “Homage to F. A. Lange” edition: it presents the new TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite”, the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON “Homage to F. A. Lange” and the 1815 MOONPHASE “Homage to F. A. Lange”. The three strictly limited masterpieces are built to a degree of perfection that would have made F. A. Lange proud. Their shared hallmark is a totally new gold alloy that is particularly hard and glows with a subtle, warm hue: 18-carat honey-coloured gold.
