Lange & Söhne From 22 February to 2 March 2005, the traditional Saxon watch manufactory Lange held an Internet auction for the first time in their company's history. The LANGE 1 "Honoris Causa" was auctioned on the Lange website, with the proceeds destined for the Munich-based heart foundation "Herz für Herz". A watch aficionado from Romania had the winning bid and obtained the valuable one-off timepiece at a price of 27,300 Euro. The novelty LANGE 1 TIME ZONE will be officially launched there. For more than ten years, the LANGE 1 has been the horological hallmark of A. Lange & Söhne, the eminent Saxon watch manufactory. It has now been fitted by the master craftsmen at Lange with the practical addition of a second time zone, thus enabling the wearer to have all the time zones of the world on his arm – and his home on his wrist wherever he travels. Having stood empty for many years, the brewery in Altenberger Strasse was bought by Lange at the end of 2004 and will be its sixth company building in Glashütte. More 3 March 2005 Watches & Passion Online auction: LANGE 1 "Honoris Causa" The online auction of the LANGE 1 "Honoris Causa" came to a successful conclusion in the evening on 2 March. The winning bid was EUR 27,300. We warmly congratulate the new owner of this masterpiece. Lange is adding a voluntary contribution of EUR 2,700 to raise the donation to EUR 30,000. This money will be remitted to the "Heart for Heart" Foundation which will use it to finance the treatment and rehabilitation of a Sri Lankan child with a cardiac disorder. More 23 February 2005 Company   “Golden Balance 2005” for LANGE DOUBLE SPLIT This year's vote for “The best watches in the world – Golden Balance 2005” has resulted in a victory for the LANGE DOUBLE SPLIT in category A – watches priced at over 5,000 euros. This marks the eighth time that a watch by A. Lange & Söhne has been voted into top place by readers of the special-interest journal “Uhren-Magazin” and users of “Focus online”. Voters could choose among 400 top products by the best-known watch manufacturers in the world – finally, the choice was narrowed down to 50 in five different categories. In the final round for category A, the most exclusive watches, the LANGE DOUBLE SPLIT romped home ahead of nine rivals – with 5,041 out of a total of 28,736 votes. Winning 18.1 percent of readers' votes, it led the field by more than six percent. The LANGE DOUBLE SPLIT, a chronograph of the first water with a double rattrapante, already was awarded the special prize by the jury of the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie” in Geneva. 25 Januar 2005 Watches & Passion   Online auction of the LANGE 1 "Honoris Causa" Lange created the LANGE 1 “Honoris Causa” explicitly for the auction in favour of the “Herz für Herz - Stiftung für Leben!”.
