Outsize date display
Depending on the size of the watch, this useful function makes it possible to display the date up to five times larger than in a conventional watch of similar dimensions. It is based on the patented two-disc mechanism.
Crocodile leather
A popular term for alligator skin. Lange uses only crocodile leather from breeding farms that comply with legislation governing species-compatible animal husbandry.
Splashwater-protected
Also: watertight, water-resistant. Pursuant to the DIN 8310 standard, a watch is splashwater-protected if it can be submerged at a depth of 30 metres (pressure: 3 bar) for one minute and resist the ingress of water.
Sapphire crystal
Glass made of artificially produced sapphire. It is very hard (9 on the Mohs scale) and scratch-resistant. It ranks just below the diamond in these two respects.

The most prominent performer on the CABARET's stage is no doubt its patented | outsize date. Before its time, dates on rectangular watches of similar dimensions were often tiny and hardly legible. The CABARET's date is nearly five times larger than ordinary ones. It can be quickly and easily corrected with a push-piece recessed in the case. Gold hands indicate the hours and minutes, and - on a separate dial - the seconds.
The CABARET presents itself with a superbly polished case in 18-carat gold or platinum. It is worn with a hand-stitched | crocodile strap that has a matching precious-metal buckle. Extraordinary jewellery versions are available as well. The solid-gold winding crown with the embossed Lange signature is | protected against the ingress of water. And the see-through | sapphire-crystal caseback allows the owner to admire the exquisite movement of the CABARET.
