The profession of watchmaker is varied and demanding. As a trained watchmaker, you master numerous skills concerning timepieces. Your abilities encompass not only micromechanical assembly and repairs but also the production of precise construction drawings and the manufacture of a range of individual components from different materials. A flair for craft and attention to detail matter first and foremost. The ability to perfect even the smallest things with constant concentration and patience is also crucial. 

As a cutting mechanic, you make high-precision parts for our watches from a wide range of materials. Working carefully with metals and other materials to specified tolerances is a fundamental aspect of your profession. To do this, you learn a variety of processing techniques such as drilling, turning, milling, eroding and grinding. Your precision work is assisted by conventional as well as CNC-controlled machine tools, which you yourself programme and use to make even the smallest components. 

Your work also involves planning and organising working processes and checking the parts you produce. As a trained cutting mechanic, you handle detailed challenges with finesse and dexterity – within a tolerance range of a few thousandths of a millimetre. 

Watchmaker and tool mechanic are demanding apprenticeships. you should meet the following requirements:
