WATCHMAKERS
WE ARE LOOKING FOR TRAINEES
The profession of watchmaker is varied and demanding. As a trained watchmaker, you master numerous skills concerning timepieces. Your abilities encompass not only micromechanical assembly and repairs but also the production of precise construction drawings and the manufacture of a range of individual components from different materials. A flair for craft and attention to detail matter first and foremost. The ability to perfect even the smallest things with constant concentration and patience is also crucial.
TOOL MECHANIC
WE ARE LOOKING FOR TRAINEES
As a tool mechanic, you manufacture special tools and gears for the assembly, adjustment and inspection of watches, thereby supporting many different areas of watch production. Working precisely with metals and plastics to specified dimensions is a fundamental aspect of your profession.
Accordingly, you will learn various craft techniques such as drilling, turning, milling and grinding as well as how to produce and implement complex technical drawings. Your precision work is assisted by CNC-controlled machine tools, which you yourself programme and use to make even the smallest components, special images and tools. As a trained tool mechanic, you delicately and dexterously master detailed challenges up to a thousandth of a millimetre.
CUTTING MECHANIC
WE ARE LOOKING FOR TRAINEES
As a cutting mechanic, you make high-precision parts for our watches from a wide range of materials. Working carefully with metals and other materials to specified tolerances is a fundamental aspect of your profession. To do this, you learn a variety of processing techniques such as drilling, turning, milling, eroding and grinding. Your precision work is assisted by conventional as well as CNC-controlled machine tools, which you yourself programme and use to make even the smallest components.
Your work also involves planning and organising working processes and checking the parts you produce. As a trained cutting mechanic, you handle detailed challenges with finesse and dexterity – within a tolerance range of a few thousandths of a millimetre.
CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Watchmaker and tool mechanic are demanding apprenticeships. you should meet the following requirements:
- A certificate of secondary education with good results
- Good results in maths, physics and German
- A flair for craft and dexterity
- Powers of concentration and patience
- Interest in timepieces
- Technical understanding and spatial perception
- Diligence and the ability to work precisely and cleanly
- Passing our recruitment test
