German precision watchmaking meets the most stunning vintage automobiles
The enthusiasm for technology and elegance is shared by connoisseurs of micromechanical time-keeping instruments and by fans of historic automobiles. As technical masterpieces, classic cars and mechanical watches still stand for values that are important to us today. This is the basis of our partnership with the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and the Concours of Elegance Hampton Court Palace. On these occasions, prestigious historic automobiles meet the exclusive timepieces by A. Lange & Söhne.
About the fascination of exquisite automobiles and top-tier watches
From 3 to 5 September 2021, friends of exclusive classic cars will convene at the Concours of Elegance in the royal parks of Hampton Court Palace near London. On the occasion of the 95th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, 95 of the finest British automobiles built in 1926 and later will be on display alongside other exhibits.
And from 1 to 3 October, connoisseurs from all over the world will gather in the impressive Alpine panorama of Lake Como to admire the masterpieces on wheels showcased in the rambling parks of the Villa d’Este. One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of the winner’s watch donated by A. Lange & Söhne for the best-of-show automobile.
Those for whom vehicles are artworks on wheels know that mechanical watches are the matching counterpart for the wrist. A. Lange & Söhne crafts watches that live up to these ambitions. The name stands for the passion to enrich fine watchmaking with new ideas and to strive for perfection – with the goal of redefining mechanical limits and creating tomorrow’s classics. The manufacture’s elaborate chronographs, in particular the 1815 CHRONOGRAPH, are hallmarks of mechanical virtuosity and at the same time recall the historically evolved alliance between timekeeping and motor sports.
