PLATINUM WATCHES

LANGE 1 in platinum reference 191.025

The Spaniards dismissively named it platino, ‘little silver’, when they were hunting for gold and did not realise that they had an even more valuable metal on their hands. On the other hand, the native peoples of South America and the ancient Egyptians had already used platinum to make jewellery.

This precious metal is regarded as particularly corrosion-resistant, malleable and rare, making platinum attractive for jewellery and prestigious watches. At Lange, we use only platinum with 950 ppt purity.
