AUTOMATIC WATCHES

Automatic watches combine convenience with fascinating mechanics. They possess a rotor which gains momentum through the movement of the wrist, winding the watch’s mainspring barrel. The watch does not need to be wound manually when it is worn regularly or the momentum maintained in a watch winder.

A manually wound mechanical watch must be regularly rewound with the crown. This provides the mainspring barrel with fresh energy.

Since pure gold is too soft for many applications, it is used in alloys, resulting in the silvery tint of white gold.
